Types of Wire Grips

 

Parallel Jaw Wire Grips: Designed with flat jaws that spread pressure evenly, making them suitable for smooth conductors such as copper or aluminum. These grips provide strong holding capacity while minimizing surface marks.

Cam Jaw Wire Grips: Featuring a cam-shaped design that automatically tightens as force increases, they are best for steel-stranded conductors and guy wires. Their self-locking action ensures maximum safety in heavy-duty pulling or long-distance line tensioning tasks.

How to Use Wire Grips?

 

When using a wire grip, first prepare a gripper suitable for the specific working conditions and check that all its components are flexible and reliable. Place the wire to be tensioned into the gripper's clamping area and manually turn the wrench to gradually tighten the grip. Some models of wire grippers feature a positioning mechanism that allows precise control of the degree of wire tension. After use, release the clamping mechanism, remove the wire, and store the gripper in a dry, clean environment for future use.

 

Warnings

 

Before each use, clean jaw area and inspect grip for proper operation to avoid slippage.

When used on/near energized lines, ground, insulate, or isolate grip before pulling.

Do not exceed rated capacity.

Always match proper size and type of grip to application.

3. We offer a wide range of specifications, with wire diameters ranging from 20.5mm to 45.7mm and WLLs from 0.9t to 9t. We can handle copper cable, covered cable, guy wire, wire rope, ABC, bare aluminum, ACSR, ACSS, and AAC.
